Air Plantlers was my first attempt at watercolor as a medium. The composition was inspired by the driftwood displays holding succulents or air plants typically found in restaurants and stores. Each time I’ve seen one of these sculptures, The twists and turns of the smooth wood often reminded me various type of antlers.

The combined subject matter was placed on a white backdrop to create a light airy feeling. The bright green of the air plants contrast the soft brown hues in the elk’s fur.
