Sakura Impala continues the watercolor exploration of combining antlers and foliage. Similar to Air Plantlers, the composition draws inspiration from the horns of the deer family.

The African antelope, also known as the impala, was chosen due to its sienna fur contrasts the green and blue tones of the moss, while the ribbed horns accentuates the natural texture of the cherry tree bark.

This piece was further inspired by this spring's cherry blossom season in Seattle, Washington. Many of the trees within my neighborhood were referenced to create the final piece.
